Carton School of Motoring can offer driving pretests of local driving test routes. Our instructors can use your own vehicle for the pretest. We’re also very happy to aid you in your preparation for the Naas Driving Test by providing an overview of each test route below.
Leave test centre car park, at the T junction turn right. Drive on to the roundabout and take the 2nd exit. Drive to the next traffic lights and turn left on to the Newbridge Road. Drive down the Newbridge Road past old test centre on the left and take the next right turn into Saint Davids Terrace.
Drive to T junction (stop sign) and turn right, take immediate left into Our Lady’s Place, drive to T junction and turn right (there are no signs at the junction, you would be required to stop as view is restricted). When you have turned right you may be asked to do hill start beside ramp.
At next crossroads turn right and drive down to the Newbridge Road and turn left (stop line). Drive to the traffic lights at the T junction and turn left towards the Main Street, you will drive through two sets of pedestrian lights and turn left at the following lights onto the Sallins Road.
Drive past the school and church on your left and look out for car park sign on your right. At the sign take a right turn into Wolfe Tone Street. Drive to T junction and turn left onto Main Street North, be alert for zebra crossing and ramp on approach to junction. On Main Street North turn right at traffic lights at Maxol on to the Blessington Road, past Tesco, straight on at traffic lights, past pedestrian lights and right at the next lights into Ballycane Road (may be asked to do hill start after the chevron board sign).
Drive up past the church on your right and when you reach the traffic lights after the church turn right onto the Cradockstown Road. Drive down Cradockstown Road and take the second right into Cleevaun, you will be asked to do your reverse around the corner on the first or second left turn.
After that drive back out to Cradockstown Road, turn left, drive up to the next traffic lights and turn right. Take the 2nd left turn Ard No Laoi and do turnabout, you may be asked to do hand signals here.
Drive out to T junction and turn left, drive up to roundabout and take 2nd exit, drive to next roundabout and take 3rd exit, drive down to the 2nd set of traffic lights and turn left onto the Newbridge Road. Drive down to the traffic lights after Apple Green garage and turn left, drive to next roundabout and take first exit, in towards test centre car park and find a suitable place to park.
Drive from the car park to the T junction and turn right. Drive on to the roundabout and take the 2nd exit, drive up to the traffic lights and turn left on to the Newbridge Road. Drive to the first set of traffic lights and turn right into Jigginstown Green and take the next right into Jigginstown Park and pull up on left to do turnabout. You may be asked to do hand signals after turnabout.
Drive back to T junction with Jigginstown Green and turn left, at the next lights turn right onto the Newbridge Road. Drive down to the next traffic lights and turn left, straight on at the roundabout, then at the following roundabout turn left down past the Garda station on your right. Take the next turn to the left into Rathasker Heights. Take first left and next right, you will be asked to do a reverse around the corner at the next junction.
Drive back out to the main Kilcullen Road and turn left and take the next right into Patrician Avenue, at the end of the road turn right onto the Ballymore Road. Drive down past Vista Medical Centre and turn right and the next left. Drive up to the stop sign and turn left back onto Ballymore Road. Drive up past Vista Medical Centre and take the next right onto the Cradockstown Road. Drive up past the hospital, you may be asked to do a hill start here.
When you reach the traffic lights turn right onto Ballycane Road, at the next roundabout take 2nd exit, drive to the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit, driving towards the Main Street. At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn left onto the Newbridge Road, drive up to the traffic lights after Apple Green garage and turn left. Drive up to the roundabout and turn left into the test centre car park.
Leaving test centre car park turn right at T junction. Drive to the roundabout and take the 2nd exit. Drive up to the next traffic lights and turn left onto the Newbridge Road. Drive up to the next traffic lights and turn right into Jigginstown Green, over the bridge, drive up to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit and take the next turn to the left into New Carragh Court, reverse around corner at 1st or 2nd turn left.
After reverse go to T junction and turn right, drive to next T junction and turn right. Drive to roundabout and take first exit, drive over the ramps and bridge to the traffic lights at Newbridge Road and turn left. Drive down the Newbridge Road and take the 3rd left into Carragh Road and the next right into Our Lady’s Place, drive to the T junction (restricted view, so stop fully), turn left into Pacelli Road, go to T junction and turn right into Sarto Park.
Follow the course of the road to the right and at the crossroads turn right into Pacelli Road. Drive up to the Newbridge Road and turn left. Drive up to the traffic lights at the T junction and turn left towards the main street. Drive straight through 3 sets of traffic lights and take the next turn right into Friary Road.
Drive up the hill over the bridge and when you reach the T junction turn right into the Blessington Road. Drive down past the pedestrian lights and at the next lights turn right into Ballycane Road (may be asked to do hill start after the chevron board sign). Drive up past the church and turn right at traffic lights into Cradockstown Road, drive down past the hospital on your left and turn left at the T junction into Ballymore Road.
Drive down past Vista Medical Care and take the 2nd right into Lakeside Park, drive up this road and take the next left into Ashfield Park, do turnabout half way up the hill (afterwards you may be asked to do hand signals).
When you move away see yield sign, straight on at T junction, turn left into Ballymore Road, drive past Vista Medical Care on your left and turn left into Patrician Avenue (white house at junction). At the next T junction turn left into the Kilcullen Road, drive to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit and at the next roundabout straight on.
Drive up to the traffic lights and turn right on to the Newbridge Road, drive up to the Newbridge Road past old test centre on your right and next lights turn right, drive to roundabout and take 1st exit and find a suitable place to park.
Leaving the car park go to T junction and turn right. Drive on to the roundabout, take the 2nd exit. Drive to the next traffic lights and turn left on to the Newbridge Road. Drive down the Newbridge Road and take the 2nd right into Saint Davids Terreace. Drive to T junction and turn left into Saint Bridget’s Terrace (tight turn, watch for kerb).
Drive to T junction and turn left into Corbally Court, pull over on left beside high wall and do turnabout. After turnabout you may be asked to do hand signals.
Drive up to T junction and stop fully at stop sign. Drive straight on into Saint Gabriels Place and take the next turn right, drive up to the crossroads with Pacelli Road and turn right. Drive up to the Newbridge Road and turn left, drive down the Newbridge Road to the traffic lights at the T junction and turn right and take the next left into Corbans Lane (series of sharp bends on this lane).
Drive to the end of this road and turn left into Friary Road, drive to T junction with Main Street North and turn right. Drive up Main Street North and take 1st left into Wolfe Tone Street (zebra crossing at entrance when you turn in, be alert for pedestrians), drive down to T junction and turn left into Sallins Road.
Drive up to the traffic lights at Main Street and turn right, drive down Main Street, pass 4 sets of traffic lights and take the next left into Ballymore Road, drive down this road for a few hundred metres and turn left into Cradockstown Road, take the next left into Lakelands.
Drive on into the estate and take the 1st turn to the left, you may be asked to do reverse around the corner at first turn to the left. Drive out of estate to Cradockstown Road and turn left up by the hospital, you may be asked to do hill start here. Drive up to the traffic lights and turn right onto Ballycane Road, drive down to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit. Drive up to the T junction and turn right.
Drive to the second set of traffic lights and turn left onto the Newbridge Road. Drive down to the traffic lights after Apple Green Garage and turn left, drive to roundabout and take 1st exit into car park and find a suitable place to park.
